Earthquake Haiti:
Malteser International assists at births/
Leogane as main focus of relief activities
Port-au-Prince/Cologne. Life goes on – in Haiti, too. The Malteser
International team reports from Leogane that
they already assisted in the delivery of several
babies. (For pictures, please see the Malteser
International photo gallery:

In Leogane, the team with three medical doctors and
three nurses – all native Haitians from the USA – has set up a health centre to
provide basic health care. Maternity is one of
the urgent priorities in health. In close
cooperation with the German Embassy, Malteser
International will strengthen Leogane as the
main focus of its health activities.
Today, Malteser International will send two water
treatment plants and four generators for power
generation to Haiti.
